The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered tomorrow (Friday, August 26) in memory of Bob Heavenor who passed away last Saturday, August 20, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
A staff member for 35 years, Bob worked in Advancement Services (Development and Alumni Engagement) for 15 years and before that with UBC IT and other IT teams around the campus. Shortly after celebrating 35 years of service in May 2010, he was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of brain cancer, which he fought hard with great support from his family and friends.
He was well known, liked and respected by his colleagues on campus, as well as by the organizations with which he volunteered off campus, and he will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life service for Bob Heavenor will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 1pm at:
