The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Thursday, December 11, in memory of Dr. Irving Allen Guttman, CM, OBC, who passed away on December 7, 2014
Dr. Guttman was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from UBC in 2009. He was the founding Artistic Director of the Vancouver Opera. In his later years, he was heavily involved with the opera program at UBC, and a rehearsal hall has been named in his honour at the Old Auditorium.
