Professor Kurt Grimm passed away on February 10, 2016. Kurt Grimm was first appointed to the former Geology Department (now part of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences) in 1992. His early research focused upon sedimentary processes. His later work focused upon a synthesis of earth- and life-systems science, sustainability science and conceptual art to communicate science concepts. in 2001 he received a UBC Killam Teaching Award. He retired from UBC on December 31, 2015.
A Celebration of Kurt’s life will take place on Friday March 4, 12:00 – 1:00 pm in the Pacific Museum of the Earth in EOS-M. All are welcome.
