BC and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Old SUB) will be lowered on Thursday, September 7, in remembrance.
Professor Emeritus Peter Michael Byrne passed away on August 17, 2017. Dr. Byrne earned his PhD in Civil Engineering at UBC and began teaching here in 1967, until his retirement in 2001. He was highly regarded by the geotechnical community for his sustained and innovative contributions.
A Celebration of Life for Peter will be held at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club on Monday, September 11, at 2:00 pm.
