The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered today, Tuesday February 1, 2011 to mark the passing of David Dale, George Griffiths and Kirsten Hyde.
DALE, David passed away on January 7, 2011. David worked for UBC’s Building Operations and was inducted into the 25 year Club in 1997.
GRIFFITHS, Dr. George Professor Emeritus of Physics (1989) passed away January 22, 2011. George retired in the late 1980’s but will be remembered for his time working on the Van de Graaf accelerator and his contact with the people working at TRIUMF in its early years of planning and construction. No date has yet been set for a celebration of his life.
HYDE, Kirsten passed away on December 4, 2010. Kirsten was an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing from 1969 – 1988.
