The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered today, Thursday February 17, 2011 to mark the passing of Rick Byers.
BYERS, Rick, Return-to-Work Coordinator in Health, Safety and Environment, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 14, 2011. Rick joined UBC in July 2008 and was appointed to the AAPS Board in 2009. Rick was a key participant on AAPS’ IRP Working Committee; and as such was instrumental in ensuring that AAPS’ move to a fully insured disability benefits plan was seamless and in the best interests of all AAPS members.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday February 19, at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 6543 132nd Street, Surrey at 11:00am. His wife Catherine is asking that in lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice be made in Rick’s name.
