The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered today, Tuesday July 31st to mark the passing of Rachel Fortier.
Rachel passed away on July 18, 2012 ending her life long battle against the effects of Cystic Fibrosis. Rachel began her studies in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC in September 2006. During her time at UBC, she studied Food Nutrition and Health and was involved in the Delta Gamma sorority.
Rachel will be missed by friends, classmates, staff, and faculty in Land and Food Systems and in the broader UBC community. In memory of Rachel, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Vancouver/ Lower Mainland branch or to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, for use in the ICU. Rachel’s family also request that you consider registering as an organ donor.
