Clyde Hertzman, OC, FRSC, MD, FRCPC, FCAHS, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013. Dr. Hertzman was Professor in the School of Population and Public Health, a Canada Research Chair in Population Health and Human Development, and Director of the Human Early Learning Partnership. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in December 2012. Dr. Hertzman came to UBC in 1985, where his research in population health and epidemiology brought recognition as a world expert in early childhood development as a determinant of health.
