The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Wednesday, February 15, in memory of Professor Daniel Vickers, who passed away on February 8, 2017
Prof. Vickers was recruited to UBC in 2006 and served as Head of the Department of History for five years (2006-2011). An historian of early America, his work focused on the social history of the sea, revealing the lives and livelihoods of working men and their families on shore and off.
A funeral will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 330 Royal Ave., New Westminster, British Columbia at 12 noon on Saturday, February 18.
