The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Tuesday, August 26, in memory of Professor Emeritus Tadeusz Ulyrch, who passed away on August 19, 2014.
Tad received his MSc in 1961 and his PhD in 1963 from UBC; he joined the Geophysics Department as faculty in 1965. Although he officially retired in 2000, he remained active until very recently. The Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists organized a symposium in 2013 to honour Tad’s contributions, and have posted an extensive interview on their website.
A celebration of Tad’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the atrium of the Earth Sciences Building (ESB), 2207 Main Mall, UBC.
