The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Sunday, January 18, in remembrance.
Dr. Verna Huffman Splane, OC, FAPHA, passed away on January 10, 2015, aged 100. Professor Splane played a major role in raising the status of the nursing profession both nationally and internationally. Verna and her husband and colleague, Richard Splane, were conferred the first-ever joint honorary Doctorate of Laws by UBC in 1996, for their exceptional contribution to public service.
The University Hill Congregation will host a service of remembrance on Sunday January 18th at 1:30 PM at The Chapel of the Epiphany, 6030 Chancellor Boulevard, Vancouver.
