The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Monday, February 2, in remembrance.
Professor Emeritus Mahmoud Ali Manzalaoui passed away on January 21, 2015. Dr. Manzalaoui was appointed Professor in the Department of English in 1969 and taught there until his retirement in 1989. Mahmoud was a specialist in Middle English Literature, which he expanded into exploring the relationship between Arabic and English Literature.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 2, at St. Mark’s College Chapel, on the UBC campus, followed by a reception at 11:45 a.m. at the UBC Golf Club.
