Myer Bloom

 

The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Friday, March 4, in remembrance.

Professor Emeritus Myer Bloom, FRSC, passed away on February 9, 2016.  Dr. Bloom joined the UBC Physics Department in 1956, retiring in 1993. Dr. Bloom was recognized internationally for his fundamental contributions to Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Physics, and to the application of NMR to probe the structure and dynamics of biological membranes.  In 2000, UBC awarded him an Honorary Doctor of Science in recognition of the scope and significance of his research that influenced many in the scientific community in Canada and around the world.
