The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in memory of Professor Emeritus Paul James Harrison, who passed away on December 17, 2016. Dr. Harrison joined UBC’s Department of Oceanography in 1975, where he soon built an internationally recognized program in Biological Oceanography. He continued to be highly active in research and mentorship in his retirement. A memorial is planned in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences for March.
