The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) is lowered today, Tuesday, July 26, 2011, to mark the passing of Margaret E. Brown on July 18, 2011.
Assistant Professor Emerita of Language Education, Margaret Brown, started at UBC as a Lecturer in July 1960, promoted to Senior Instruction in July 1961, and retired as Assistant Professor in 1985. Her specialty was in Early Childhood Education, and she was the Chair of the Department from 1975 – 1978.
A service of remembrance will be held at West Point Grey United Church, 4595 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C., at 2 p.m. on August 31, 2011.
