The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Monday September 24, in memory of Dr. Warren Kitts, Dean Emeritus, who passed away on Thursday September 20, 2012.
Dr. Kitts joined UBC in 1953 in the Department of Animal Husbandry, and was named Professor in 1965. He was appointed Chair of the Department of Animal Science in 1967, and of the Department of Poultry Science in 1968. Dr. Kitts become Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in 1976, and served as Dean until his retirement in 1984.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Warren Kitts will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Ladner, BC, with a Reception to follow.
