The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Thursday, October 17, in remembrance.
Sanford Hirshen – passed away on October 2, 2013. Professor Emeritus Hirshen was Director of UBC’s School of Architecture from 1990 to 2000. He was a fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the American Institute of Architects in recognition of his work, which was focused on socially responsible architecture. A memorial will be organized by the Berkeley College of Environmental Design.
