The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Friday, February 21, in memory of Professor Emeritus Erich Wolfgang Vogt, OC, OBC, FRSC, who passed away on February 19, 2014.
Erich Vogt taught physics at UBC from 1965 until 2009. He was a founder of the TRIUMF project, and served as Director from 1981 until his retirement in 1994. From 1975 to 1981, he was VP of Faculty and Student Affairs at UBC. He was conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Science by UBC in 1999.
A public celebration of Erich’s life is planned for Saturday, March 8, 2-4 p.m., at Sage Bistro on the UBC Campus. All who knew Erich are welcome.
