Professor Emeritus David J. Niederauer passed away on July 27, 2014. Professor Niederauer was a specialist in 19th-Century French Literature who taught for over 30 years at UBC. He was first appointed to the Department of Romance Studies in 1955, retiring from the Department of French in 1987.
