Professor Emeritus Blanca Muratorio-Posse passed away recently. Professor Muratorio taught in the Department of Anthropology from 1972 until 2001. Throughout her career, she conducted ethnographic studies in both the Andes and the Amazon. Her most recent book was published in 2014. Blanca and her husband, Ricardo Muratorio, Professor Emeritus in Sociology at UBC, donated their collection of Latin American art and artifacts to the UBC Museum of Anthropology before returning to live in Argentina in 2011.
