The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Friday, February 13, in remembrance.
Professor William Nicholls passed away on November 10, 2014. Professor Nicholls came to UBC in 1961 to form one of the first major non-sectarian programs of religious studies in Canada. In 1964, Religious Studies attained full department status, with Professor Nicholls its first Head. Professor Nicholls retired in 1984.
