The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Monday, June 22, in memory of Senior Instructor Emerita Joan L. Pavelich, who passed away on May 11, 2015. Joan graduated from UBC in 1946 and returned to lecture in the Department of English, retiring in 1987. Joan helped launch UBC’s Crane Library, founded the Canadian Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and was appointed Fellow of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing.
