Professor Dietmar Neufeld passed away on September 9, 2015. Professor Neufeld first joined the Department of Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies as a Sessional Lecturer in 1989, and was appointed as Assistant Professor in 1994. He was promoted to Professor in July 2015. Dr. Neufeld served as Associate Head of the Department (2004-2009) and Head (2012-2015). He also served as Vice-President (2013/14) and as President (2014/15) of the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies.
