Dr. Dallas Murray Richards, OC, OBC, passed away on December 31, 2015, at the age of 97. Dr. Richards was conferred an honorary degree by UBC in 2010. Dal, his wife Muriel, and the Dal Richards Orchestra celebrated their relationship with the UBC Opera Ensemble every year at the Opera Ball, where the King of Swing introduced his music to new generations.
