Professor Emeritus Janet Ruth Stein Taylor passed away on January 16, 2016. Dr. Stein joined the UBC Department of Botany in 1959, retiring in 1985. During that period, she lead the advising group in the Department, and served as Associate Dean of Science. Dr. Stein’s research was focused on the Freshwater and Estuarine Algae of British Columbia. Janet was married to Roy Taylor, Director of the UBC Botanical Garden.
