Professor Emeritus Maria Anna Fürstenwald passed away on January 14, 2016. Dr. Fürstenwald retired from the Department of Germanic Studies in 1985. She was best known for her research work on women writers of the Baroque period. Maria was predeceased by her long-time friend and companion, Margaret Prang.
