A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, 21 August 2016, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Marine Drive Golf Club, 7425 Yew Street, Vancouver. (During Marine Drive construction, the club may be reached via the western end of West 57th Avenue.)
The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) will be lowered on Thursday, June 30, in memory of Professor Emeritus John D. Dennison, who passed away on June 26, 2016.
Dr. Dennison was first appointed to the Department of Higher Education at UBC in 1962. Dr. Dennison retired in 1994, after 30 years as an educator and a prolific researcher, also serving the broader UBC community on Senate for over 20 years. Dr. Dennison’s scholarship has profoundly shaped Canadian higher education and influenced the educational system in British Columbia, focusing on the community college as an integral part of increasing opportunities for higher education attainment in the province.
