The BC Flag (Main Mall and Agronomy Road) is lowered on Thursday, August 4, in remembrance.
Dr. Melvin Gordon Hurtig, OC passed away on August 3, 2016. Dr. Hurtig was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Laws by UBC in 1992 in recognition of his dedication to his country.
