Dr. Bing Thom, CM passed away on October 4, 2016. Bing Thom earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from UBC in 1966, then in 2008 was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Laws by UBC for his “brilliant career in architecture and citybuilding.” One of his many notable buildings is the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. Along with winning awards around the world for his architecture, he was also recognized for his involvement at the community level.
