Professor Emeritus Sinclair Davis Healy passed away on March 13, 2017. Professor Healy (Clair) was hired to the Department of Visual and Performing Arts in the Faculty of Education in 1960 as a painter in the days when academic research in art education as a field of study was in the early stages of development. Clair taught through studio work and was widely respected as a master artist who promoted studio discipline as the key to success n the art classroom. He retired from UBC in 1985. An informal gathering in Sinclair’s memory will be held at Marine Drive Golf Course (7425 Yew Street Vancouver) 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday April 1, 2017.
