The BC and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Old SUB) will be lowered on Friday, March 16, in remembrance.
Professor Emerita Mavis Joyce Teasdale passed away on March 5, 2018. She was Associate Professor Emerita with the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Teasdale was UBC’s first pediatric hematologist. She began the use of chemotherapy for the treatment of leukemia, which was at the time considered a fatal diagnosis.
