The BC and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Old SUB) will be lowered on Tuesday, July 3, in remembrance.
Professor Emeritus Alan Douglas (Herb) Forward passed away on May 17, 2018. Dr. Forward was a graduate of the UBC Medical school in 1957. He served as Director of Surgical Education at UBC from 1972-1997 and was Head of Surgery at UBC and Vancouver General Hospital from 1982-1987. A major portion of Dr. Forward’s teaching was committed to surgical residents, and post retirement, he continued to participate in the education of undergrads in Surgical Method and teaching Rural Family Practice methods.
