The BC and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Old SUB) will be lowered on Tuesday, July 3, in remembrance.
Professor Emerita Marion Porath passed away on June 13, 2018. Dr. Porath was a Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education. As a testament to her dedication to students, Dr. Porath won the Killam Teaching prize in 1998. Dr. Porath’s art’s based research led to her work with the UBC Opera and young opera singers. Her research on giftedness was captured in a documentary film Superkids 2: Learning from the Life Trajectories of Our Most Able Students.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 20 at Sage Bistro, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
