Professor Emeritus Maurice Sion passed away on April 17, 2018. Dr. Sion was a Professor of Mathematics from 1960 to his retirement in 1989 and served as Head of the Department of Mathematics. He is best known for his Minimax Theorem, and also wrote many books. He was selected as a member of the inaugural class of Fellows of the American Mathematical Society in 2012.
