The BC and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building (the Old SUB) will be lowered on Friday, January 18, in remembrance.
Dr. Martha Donnelly passed away on January 10, 2019. Dr. Donnelly joined the UBC Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Family Practice in 1987, and became a member of the Quarter Century Club in 2013. Dr. Donnelly received the Killam Excellence in Teaching Award in 2010 for her significant contributions to education within the faculty. Dr. Donnelly lead the expansion of the geriatric curriculum at UBC as head and director of various divisions from 1987 – 2016. She was a tireless advocate of senior patients and their rights.
A celebration of life is planned for Dr, Donnelly on January 18th, 2019 at 11 am at the Arbutus Club, and all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
