The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) will be lowered on Monday, January 27, in remembrance. Dr. Joanna Bates passed away on January 18, 2020. Dr. Bates was a Professor Emerita and researcher in the Centre for Health Education Scholarship, Faculty of Medicine.
Gordon Smith
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) will be lowered on Monday, January 27, in remembrance. Dr. Gordon Smith,O.C. passed away on January 18, 2020. Dr. Smith was awarded a UBC Honorary Degree in 2001.
Au De Duong
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) will be lowered on Monday, January 20, in remembrance. Mr. Au De Duong passed away on November 30, 2019. Mr. Duong worked as a Utility worker in Building Operations since 1981 and joined the 25 year Club in 2006.
George Davidson
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) will be lowered on Monday, January 20, in remembrance. Professor Emeritus A. George Davidson passed away on January 6, 2020. Dr. Davidson was a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and joined the Quarter Century Club in 2000.
Ukrainian International Airlines Flight 752 Tragedy
The Canadian flag (at flagpole plaza), and the BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) are lowered today, January 9, 2020, in respect for all of those affected by the Ukrainian International Airlines Flight 752 tragedy, including UBC community members. Geoffrey Herring
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (at the North Plaza of the Life Building) will be lowered on Friday, January 10, in remembrance. Professor Emeritus Geoffrey Herring passed away on December 30, 2019. Dr. Herring taught Chemistry and joined the Quarter Century Club in 1996 and became a Tempus Fugit member in 2003.
John Spencer MacDonald

Dr. Feltham taught at Sauder in the Accounting and Information Systems Division and joined the Quarter Century Club in 1996.
Kitt Turney
