The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (temporarily relocated to the East Mall Entrance and Plaza at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre) will be lowered on Thursday, January 22, 2026 in remembrance. Honorary Degree Holder Madeleine Kétéskwēw Dion Stout, C.M., L.LD., passed away on December 30, 2025. Dr. Dion Stout received an honorary degree from UBC in 2004.
W. D. Liam Finn
The BC, Musqueam and UBC flags (temporarily relocated to the East Mall Entrance and Plaza at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre) will be lowered on Thursday, January 22, 2026 in remembrance. Professor Emeritus W. D. Liam Finn passed away on December 23, 2025. Dr. Finn served in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Applied Science.
Judith Anne Dowd

Clinical Assistant Professor Emerita Judith Anne Dowd passed away on November 15, 2025. Dr. Dowd served in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine.
David Dix
