Toolkit to promote the 2026 UBC Staff and Faculty BBQ
We look forward to welcoming over 5,500 faculty and staff to this outdoor celebration along Main Mall – the largest faculty and staff event at the Vancouver campus! Please use the toolkit below to promote through your local channels.
Audience
The event is for Vancouver campus staff and faculty (not student appointments).
Timing
Begin promotions as early as June, especially for Faculty who may be on vacation over the summer, and continue reminders into September.
FYI: How RSVPs for the BBQ work
Each department will designate one contact to coordinate RSVPs and distribute wristbands. Consider coordinating communications with your Department Contact who may have a specific way or internal deadline for collecting RSVPs. Learn more.
Contacts must submit their department’s RSVP by August 20.
Wristbands will be sent to departments between August 26 and September 4.

Required:
- Wear your wristband to access the buffet line
- If registering on-site, bring your physical or digital UBCcard
You are welcome to bring:
- Reusable water bottle
- Your own plate and cutlery to reduce single-use items
- Picnic blanket for sitting on the grassy areas of Main Mall
- Small-scale lawn games to play outside
